Production 8- Final editing steps

Today I was not able to work on the editing of the film because we did not go to media studies class due to midterms and changed schedules.  However, I was able to work on Wednesday  the 20 th   where we finalized the music and added the title sequence and introduction  clip.    The only thing left to d o  would be to add the freeze frame shots which one of my group members Makayla  Tackman  is editing,  considering  all the  footage  is on her  iPad . We used the app version  because  of the easy  accessibility  and  convenience .  My group and I decided, with our  teacher's  guidance to make the film lean towards  scarier  that comedic because of the angles that we took. The camera equipment that we had  access  to at the time was not very profes sional, causing the filming to be  obviously   handheld  and not...

Production 7- Beginning of Editing Process

Today in Media studies we had an extended period due to the  midterm  schedule.  So,  my group and I had a lot more time to focus on  editing.   We downloaded the  PremierPro  app on my group member Makayla Tackman's iPad so that it would be easier to transfer videos. In my opinion it was  much easier to navigate through the app on the iPad rather  than  on the computer, on the iPad we could easily move around the clips, cut or do any editing that we had to.  My group and I finished the organization part of the editing process., we were able to rearrange the order of the clips  and play around with the audio portion of the editing. We will be visiting our digital technology teacher to see if he has any helpful tips for the audio and  text design and placement. I feel good about today my group and I were very productive and  collaborative  when working.

Production 6- Wrap up on Filming

On Thursday the 14 th  my group and I fi na lly fished all the necessary filming for our movie.  We reevaluated the teacher scenes and re filmed the ones we had previously filmed, and we are much happier with the end results. We also finished filming  all  our establishing shots  that will be used for our title sequence.  And lastly, we finished filming the other half of our interaction scenes with the students. We did run into a problem with one of our actors not being present that  day,   so we had to re-cast her role, but  overall,  the filming went smoothly. All that is left is the editing portion.

Production 5- Filming pt.2

Today we filmed part of the dialogue  scenes . We had some major  setbacks , most of ou r cast was quarantined due to exposure to Covid-19 in school.  We managed to cast other people in our media studies class to be in the film. When we arrived  at  the  teacher's  room  we were  using, he was ou t  running errands and his teacher assistant was there. She was also in our film along with  our media studies classmates. We did get some footage, but we are yet to have finished as we still must get some scenes with students and some with the teacher. We also decided to change our  establishing shots, so we will be filming those on Thursday and Friday, after we finish  filming the  scenes  in the classroom.

Production 4- First Part of Filming

Today we filmed the scenes that included the teacher. Since the scenes that involved the  teacher  did not require any other  actor,  we were able to  finish that part. While filming we had to redo a lot of the shots due to  indecisiveness  involving the lines and shots that we  preferred .  After beginning to film we realized how different a vision you have in  your mind  can be from what the outcome will be .  One of my group  members  Olivia Swanson  brought  a few clothing props, while I brought a selfie stick to  enhance  the shots.  Filming the scenes went  relatively quickly  even after making the changes that we did; my group members and I were still efficient.   After filming the  shots,  we still had time to go back to our class and play with  some sound effects.  On Thursday   my group member Makayla Tackman should Oli...

Production 3- Scheduling for Filming

Today we  were originally supposed to film the scene ’s involving  the teacher we casted because our Media Studies period  is the same as his planning period. But when we arrived to his classroom, he was  gone and running errands. So, we rescheduled the filming for his scenes to Friday the 8 th .  Since the filming got postponed, we decided to go back to class and since there was a technology teacher there for that  week,  he showed us how to use Premier Pro basics.  Then we  decided to plan out a schedule of when we will be filming and what we will film that day. We have contacted the actors and incorporated their various schedules.  We also made sure that everyone who agreed was still available, we then discovered one of our actors could not follow through. We then a sked around to try and find a replacement, we eventually found someone who could take on the role.
